Highland Baptist to perform same-sex marriages

As anyone in the LGBT community will tell you, Highland Baptist Church is a warm and welcoming member of our community and absolutely accommodating and affirming to people from all walks of life. They have been for many years and will be for many to come. We support them in their path and wish them the absolute best in the days, weeks, and years to come.

Highland's Board of Deacons announced its decision through the church's online newsletter. "We clearly felt God's spirit leading us in this process," the newsletter read.  "We have elected gay and lesbian individuals to serve as deacons, welcomed gay and lesbian members as teachers and leaders throughout the church and have dedicated babies of same sex couples.
