Statement about DBCC and Covid-19
To our friends and family who call DBCC home:
As you've no doubt heard, the time for taking big measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus is here. Governor Beshear has asked all houses of worship in the state to suspend public worship services for the time being. Because we take seriously our commitment to the health and safety of our neighbors and community, we are going to be doing our worship services online. (Click this link a few minutes before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning to install the software and get ready.)
Everyone is welcome! Whether you are in the pews every week or listen to our podcast from afar or are just DBCC-curious: log on for a time of worship and fellowship.
DBCC will not be holding in-person services on Sunday, March 15th and 22nd. Instead, we will be gathering online using the Zoom meeting platform. To join our (less formal) worship service, click the link above a few minutes before 11:00 so you can join us.
We will be leading communion, so if you’d like to participate, please have elements available for the bread and the cup.
Alternately, we will also be live-streaming the service on Facebook for those who prefer to use social media. (Click this link to join us via Facebook.)
We will also continue to post our audio podcast of the sermon on our web site every Sunday afternoon, for those who are not able to join us at 11:00. In addition, we will upload video to YouTube and our web site.
Because we won't be gathering physically, we are going to have to be extra vigilant about our giving—which will have to be done by mail (2005 Douglass Blvd. Louisville, KY 40205) or through our online donation page: here or here.
We will be vigilant in trying to keep up with everyone. The staff will be telecommuting, but the church's phone will continue to be monitored and answered just like always. So, if you have a need or know of someone who has a need, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Grace and Peace,
Derek
