Notes on the week.
Lots of things to think about this week...
We remember the life of a great human being:
Many folk have heard that the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. made the comment that the U.S. government [was/is] "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today". This was in context to a speech delivered on April 4, 1967 at Riverside Church in New York City - exactly one year before his untimely death.
We anxiously watch our leaders deal with decisions of liberty, security, and privacy:
At a major speech outlining revisions to U.S. intelligence operations, Barack Obama announced a number of new procedures for the NSA, including an end to the phone tapping of world allies.
And we await relief and resolution for our friends in the West Virginia:
It has been a heavy week.
It's weeks like this that I like to sit listen to Louis Armstrong and ponder.
Just ponder.
Have a wonderful weekend, and peace be with you all.
